Light-dependent ionic-electronic conduction in an amorphous octahedral molybdenum cluster thin film

Abstract We developed a new environment-sensing device based on the opto-ionic-electronic phenomena of an octahedral molybdenum metal (Mo 6 ) cluster. When Mo cluster is electrochemically deposited transparent electrode in organic solvent containing trace amount water, water permeates film. During process, some ligand species that stabilize frame structure are substituted with hydroxyl groups, and negatively charged unit stabilized by hydronium counterions. As result, film fabricated this method exhibits ionic-electronic mixed conduction ion. The ionic greatly changes depending temperature humidity atmosphere, electrical conductivity wavelength intensity irradiated light. These unique multisensing properties present possibilities for environmental sensing applications.
